A painting for me wears many hats: aesthetics in design, color, and personal expression. It needs to be more than just a pretty face; it needs to be interesting and ambiguous. It must be metaphorical, which speaks to deeper things and explorative connections for the artist and the viewer. It also needs to resemble a human-made artifact, such as a painting. An art form that has grown in consciousness since the first cave painting and throughout history. It needs to be unique and unquestionably not artificial intelligence-derived. It needs to be a human talking to humans, an interactive creation. |
