The story behind this painting. When I was in art class in 1998, our assignment was to paint one of our first-earliest significant memories that came to mind. This memory was when I was a kid living in Michigan. I'm thinking like seven years old. It was a winter's day, and snow covered the ground. My friends and I went sledding. We sledded down a small hill until Jamie said, let's go over to the big hill where the big kids sled.
My friends went down, dragging their feet to slow themselves down. Now it is my turn. I'm not dragging my feet like those weenies. It was a big hill, a mountain to my eyes. It had three humps. At the first hump, I caught air. I could barely see the second hump jump as I was going so fast. I launch. Everything goes wrong. I crash. I blacked out. When I come to this is what I see.
